Project Summary

Grouted pulldown helical piles were installed at Northwestern University’s Willard Hall to provide support to existing footings for new additions. No load test was performed but installation torques were recorded. A working load was calculated using empirical relationships created by Hoyt and Clemence (1989), industry standard. Underpinning brackets were installed on the piles and bolted to the existing foundation to transfer the load.
